Cinco de Mayo or the 5th of May is a day of celebration in Mexico and in the city of Puebla. In 1862 a Mexican Army under the command of General Zaragoza defeated an invading French Army. It is not Independence day as some believe, but it is day of great national pride. The day is celebrated in Mexico and in many cities in the United States where there are communities of Mexican origin.
